Project 1: Marcia Westcott, Accounting is found after Chapter 11 in your textbook. For your graded project, you’ll complete the accounting cycle for the month of December 2019. First, read through the project to become familiar with the tasks you’re required to do. Refer back to Chapters 9–11 if you’re unsure how to perform an assigned task. This project is very similar to what you’ve been doing throughout these chapters.
1. Complete Steps 1–35 as instructed in the textbook.
2. Please note the following important changes to Step 29:
· Export
only the following reports to an Excel file:
<Standard> Balance Sheet
<Standard> Income Statement
· See the section “Export Financial Statements to Excel†in Chapter 7 of your textbook. These detailed instructions show how to export a financial statement to an Excel file and then to add additional statements as worksheets within the file when needed. When creating the Excel file for the Balance Sheet, under the
File option, select the
Create a new Microsoft Excel workbook option. To name the file, use your student number, followed by an underscore, and the first six digits of the exam number. For example: 12345678_061210 (Your student ID_exam number)
· When creating the Excel file for the Income Statement, under the File option, select the
Add a new worksheet to an existing Microsoft Excel workbook option. Click on the
Browse button to find and select the file you just created. Add the Income Statement to the file containing the Balance Sheet.
· The time frame to be used for both reports is the current period default (12/1/19 through 12/31/19).
· It isn’t necessary to export the other statements. Only the Balance Sheet and Income Statement are being used for grading purposes.
